Tires need to be run-in for 25 miles / 40 km on hard-top road to ensure spikes are permanently fixed. Avoid rapid acceleration and braking during this period.
Ice Spiker Pro
I bought a pair of the Ice Spiker Pro’s this past winter and can attest that they are by far the best studded tire I’ve ever ridden. I’ve got twenty plus years of winter commuting and racing and I’m extremely impressed with the grip of this tires. Our winter racing club staged an Ice Criterium on a flooded track on a local lake. This surface was like a Zambonied surface. The Ice Spikers allowed me to walk away from the competition. I never had to brake for any of the corners. I just rolled through them all without a need to scrub any of my speed.
