SCHWALBE ATHLETES CELEBRATE TRIATHLON PARTY AT CHALLENGE ROTH

Patrick Lange and Anne Haug with Schwalbe Pro One TT on first place

COVID is still shaking up the training and racing calendar of our Schwalbe athletes. But against all odds, Patrick Lange and Anne Haug in particular presented themselves in strong form and won the prestigious Challenge Roth 2021 in superior fashion.

THE RACE

After the World Championships in Hawaii were postponed to next spring due to the pandemic, some top athletes decided to start at Challenge Roth at short notice in order to be able to complete a triathlon long distance under competition conditions at all this year.

Patrick Lange also made his successful debut in Roth. In an overall time of 07:19:19 hours, he was able to win the Challenge in a commanding manner. Although he is known to play to his strengths especially in the marathon, he has especially on the bike course an excellent starting position for the later success.

Anne Haug's first start in Roth was also crowned with victory. After she had to fight with a covid illness in May, it was her first long distance race this year. She dominated the starting field and left her competitors more than half an hour behind her with an overall time of 07:44:46 hours.

DRIVER SET-UP

Both Challenge winners, Anne Haug and Patrick Lange, relied on our high-end triathlon special tire Schwalbe Pro One TT on the 170km long bike course.

Patrick Lange combined different tire widths (25 mm front/28 mm rear) and also relied on our tubeless technology to optimize performance.

Anne Haug was in no way inferior to this set-up and optimized her 25 mm Pro One TT with the new Schwalbe Aerothan Tube made of thermoplastic polyurethane.

Thus, this double victory of our Schwalbe athletes is also a triumph of the most advanced tire technologies.

MORE TOP RESULTS

In addition to the outstanding victories, the men in particular were able to come up with further top placings.

Second place went to Schwalbe athlete Nils Frommhold. The 5th, 7th and 10th places were secured by Franz Löschke (5),

Braden Currie (7) und Thomas Davis (10).
